it is so delicious. but can i make it without pav bhaaji masala………………..

    • PoonamB

Pav bhaji masala is very much essential to get authentic taste. You can make it at home, please go through this recipe – If whole spices are not available, you can replace with garam masala powder and mix it with some aamchoor powder, kasoori methi, pinch of asefoetida, turmeric powder and red chili powder. Hope this helps.

    just some info :)

since Pav bhaji is a sour dish, better use hard anodised vessel( that shiny black colour cookware). my rule is, never use aluminium for sour items since it oozes out black coloured muck on contact with khatta things.

try two pinches of kasuri methi and a pinch of hing , it adds to the pav bhaji flavor. also add a handful of corainder leaves while adding tomatoes.

for better color, soak 4-5 red chillies like bedgi or kashmiri with 7-8 garlic pieces for 1 hour and grind them into a paste. ginger can be avoided alltogether. Or boil the chillies for 3-4 mins and grind if time is less.

peas can be boiled in the cooker itself with other veggies, saves some cooking time.
